I'm sorry Haiti!

I complain,

"I'm soooo tired."

"I have a headache."

"We need a vacation and less stuff on our plate."

"I don't FEEL like making dinner."

And then Haiti crumbles and I feel selfish and stupid.

I have a bed, health insurance and great doctors, plenty of activities to keep me busy and food in the pantry. Some things make you shut up.

My thoughts go out to everyone affected in this disaster.

I hate that this stuff happens.

Yeah, it is a great tragedy what has happened over there. The pictures are mortifying and humbling.

Hey! Thanks for your comments on my crib skirt tute. Congrats on your expectant little girl- girls are so fun. Having one of each, I hate to say it, but girls are way more fun. Ribbons and ruffles- is there anything better?!

OK, are you planning on making one like the layered ruffle crib skirt that you posted? I wish I'd seen that one- it's way cute! Here's my advice on what I'd do:
1. Decide how long you want the bottom layer- measure from the bottom of the crib mattress to the floor and add an inch for hems.
2. Do you want three layers like that one picture? Just divide your longest layer into three. Let's say it's 24" long. Do your shorted layer 9" (that's including an inch for hems 8"+1") and your second layer 17" (8"+8"+1"), and your third would be cut to 25" (8"+8"+8"+1") which you would hem to 24".
3. Ruffles- to make it really ruffly like that one, I'd do double the length (or even 2 1/2 times) of my sides and gather that, instead of 1 1/2 times like my tute says.

Hope that helps you out- if you do end up doing it, let me know, I'd love to see it! Email me with any questions you have and I'd be happy to try and help you!
