That Post-Running Look

I was changing into my pajamas last night when I looked in the mirror and thought, dang, I am sooo freakin' hot right now.

Maybe the endorphins were still flowing through my brain but I thought I looked AH-MAZE-ING!

I mean, this hotness might not last another minute so I had to show my husband the smokin' bod.

I hobbled to his office, "BABE! Seriously! Check out how sexy I am!"

He gave me THE look. One of those looks where he didn't have to say much but I knew exactly what he was thinking.

I turned around to walk away and be a tease because I saw someone do that on T.V. once.

And WHACK.

Right into a wall.

Because I'm pretty.

I was sanding our stair railing (banister?) and sent my husband this picture with attached message:

"If you think I'm sexy and you want my body, c'mon baby let me know..."

Should I be offended?

Because,

he didn't respond.

Friday Night

Geoff walked to the ATM to deposit my paycheck. I kissed him goodbye and continued on with dinner. As time passed I tried to brush some of my worries away. I mentioned earlier, Denver is kinda FREAKING OUT and innocent males are getting beat up. I don't want my husband to be beat up. I figured he stopped for a drink or ran another errand. My sweet potato latke things were taking 5 times longer than expected and each ended in disaster. I would make a terrible jew and (Close your eyes, this is where I REALLY stereotype) every Jew I met really knows how to party. I guess I have non party fun, lame blood running through my veins because these latkes really sucked. Geoff still wasn't home. I admitted latke defeat and threw the rest of the shredded potato mix into the trash as I attempted to ventilate our smoked out house.

Geoff walks in the door and I hear, "I was frisked!"

Huh?

Turns out as my husband was walking down the sidewalk, he noticed a cop car following him slowly, as he passed him bye, Geoff smile and waved. The cop pulled over and got out.

Officer: "Hi, you look like a nice guy but I have to ask, where are you going?"

Geoff: "Just heading to the bank, need to deposit some money."

Officer: "Hah, okay, I'm sorry but you match the description of a man that robbed a bank this morning, I need to search you."

Geoff totally surprised and wishing he took back his 'bank' answer: "I have an alibi, my wife has been home with me all day. I have my ID, do whatever you need to do sir."

A second later, Geoff realized I WASN'T with him all day, I was gone all morning.

I interrupt, "BABE, how much money did you REALLY deposit? Are we RICH?!"

My poor husband got frisked, said the officer did a very thorough job and his only reward were a few burned latkes and a smoked out condo. Yeah, we go all out on a friday night...not. But let me tell you, our account now is LOADED! ;)

(Denver Police, I'm totally joking. Please don't arrest me, I don't even like getting my name on the board.)

Happy Weekend!

Money Box

I know I complained about Geoff purchasing some war game for the stupid X Box.

That was until he informed me that he moved our stock to the company that makes the war games.

Dear Everyone: Go out and buy Call of Duty games. I guess I changed my mind, the games aren't dumb, not dumb at all, or a pointless time waster. No, nothing like that.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to find some stocks that focus purely on male obesity because apparently when you sit down to play, you can't get back up... ever.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Excuse me while I complain...

Geoff just bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, or something or rather.

It's the only thing we fight about, the damn XBox.

It even came with night vision goggles.

I need a drink.

Dear Iphone

Dear: Iphone

It is no surprise my husband has an insatiable appetite for anything Macintosh. Did you know that is one little thing that helped kick start our relationship? A love for your products? Thanks for that. Anyway, I believe his love is going to far.

This next story is 100% true.

Geoff and I were trying to find Sears Outlet in search for a decent fridge that didn't cost millions. I was the navigator. I'm not a good navigator.

Me- Okay babe, turn left. Oops, just kidding, U-turn.

Him- Is the compass on your iphone map?

Me- YES, okay, now turn right! Umm, just kidding again, U-turn. This iphone is good, it tells me when I mess up.

Him- It's not on is it?

Me- Yes!

He grabs my phone and turns the compass on.

Me- WOW, now this is REALLY EASY!!!

Him- I knew it wasn't on. You better watch out, this iphone can do a lot, I might even trade you in.

-Sound scratched record.

I get it iphone. You are really pretty.

You are for sure WAY skinnier than I am but curvy in just the right spots. Guys like that, don't they?

You can light up a room.

You know everything!

You can pull recipes out of your butt, give us all the good stock info, play any game, even the stupid ones I make fun of. You don't make fun of stupid games but play along and pretend to enjoy them. Geoff really likes that.

You are WAY smarter than me.

You never forget to remind us when we asked you to.

Speaking of reminders, you never forget a birthday.

You are pretty much perfect and now I hate you for that.

And, damn you, YOU NEVER GET LOST!

I'm not one to get jealous but you better back off my man. I will fight dirty.

Dear Husband

I told myself I'm not allowed to post on here unless I get all my chores done. You know, I'm kind of grounding myself. I have to be super organized and use my time wisely to get everything done.

Who said I have to follow my own rules though, right?

Lately I've been crazy in love with my husband. I mean, I'm always IN LOVE with him, but lately it's been like CRAZY IN LOVE with him. I just want to eat him up, hold onto him forever, kiss every inch of his face on my free time. I'm totally obsessed with him. I love it.

Dear Husband:

You've heard it before, I love your freakin' guts. Every little drop off gooey guts. I love them. And your skin and eyes and bones and bone marrow and hair and nails. I love your bone structure AND your guts!

But I really love your personality, your laugh, the look on your face when Sawyer does something weird.

I really, really love how much you care for people. How much you care for me, how much you care for your friends. How the small things people do really touch you, like yesterday, you looked through this book our friends made for us with water in your eyes, just so touched. I love how much you love the people in your life.

I'm crazy about your interests. You are always interested in how to make the world a better place. How to keep people safe. How to make everyone feel loved and happy and cared for. See, back to the caring thing! You just care so much that you can get hurt in the process. That doesn't stop you, you just keep on caring.

You challenge me in ways I need to be challenged. It's really annoying when you do that. I know you are doing it to push me in a positive direction, so I still love you for it, even when I'm annoyed.

Your really funny. Sometimes your jokes make no sense to me. That is probably because you are a lot smarter than I am. You are super intelligent. I love that. I love that you are smart and funny, even when your funny goes right over my head.

YOU GIVE THE BEST HUGS!

YOU LOVE TO CUDDLE. The other day I thought, what if he was just pretending to like cuddling but one day you couldn't handle it anymore and decided you weren't going to be a cuddler. Yeah, I didn't like that thought. So, don't even try it. I'm in love with your cuddling and if you stop... well, lets not go there.

You can cook portobello mushrooms like no other. Mmmmm.

You will do anything to make sure I'm having fun. It doesn't matter what, or if you are in the mood to go do something, if I think it will be fun, or you think I might have fun, you are game. You will do anything to make me smile. That doesn't go unnoticed, and baby, you make me smile even when you aren't doing anything at all!

You just looked at me and laughed. I'm watching you laugh right now at some podcast thing. Did I already tell you how much I love your laugh? I love it, right now, right this second. Keep laughing lover!

I always write to Sawyer. I think it's well past your turn.

I love you baby. Thanks for letting me trick you into liking me. You sure fell into that one didn't you?! Sucker!

Your wifey

Do you call that an Apology?

After doing something jerky this morning.

Geoff to me: Well, we can't be nice all the time, guys have to be jerks once and a while so you girls continue to like us.

HUH?! Want to try that one more time? Starts with an 'S, ends with an 'orry'.

I'm still waiting...

Famous Last Words

Geoff to Me: Just trust me.
Now open your legs...

(Geoff trying to tickle my knees while I'm crossing my legs tightly so only one knee is exposed and holding the covers over myself because, I DON'T WANT TO BE TICKLED!)

Yeah right sucker!

Husband Proofing

Last night I snuggled up in bed, exhausted from a super fun weekend, ready for some down time and shut eye. I leaned over to Geoffs night stand, grabbed the remote and shot out of bed.

Two weeks prior: I'm in line at the grocery store. The weather is warming up and I'm excited for my runs to shift from indoors to outdoors, from three miles to ten plus. For me, gum is a running necessity. I went back and forth on whether I should buy said gum and where I would hide it so my husband can't find the purchase. He is not big enough for gum. I decide to purchase the gum anyway and continue with check out.

Sometime over the course of two weeks, the gum got out of hiding and though I've only had two pieces, half the pack is gone. He found it.

Back to last night: I shot out of bed, walked the remote over to my husband who worked on peeling chewed gum off the back of the remote.

He is not big enough for gum.

This made me think of baby proofing.

When fingers start exploring the outlets and everything that can be picked up goes straight for the mouth, and a once little lazy thing can scoot about everywhere, I figured it was time to baby proof.

There are a lot of things to think about when baby proofing. " THINK LIKE A BABY" they tell you. Really, because I don't think they think all that much.

There are hundreds of websites, so many help articles, lists of what to buy with everyones countering advice.

MUST BUY OULET COVERS.

DO NOT BUY OUTLET COVERS, babies can pull them out and then they becoming a choking hazard. Your baby will die from you trying to child proof. Outlet covers are the devil, you must buy a safety cover plate instead.

Huh?

Put a gate at the top of your stairs but make sure it's not a pressure mounting gate because you child an push it out and tumble down the stairs and die. Ahhhhh!

Toilet locks are a must, if you don't have them, you child can drown and die.

Must have a stove guard.

Stove guard is NOT enough, stove must be locked in so toddler can not pull it down and die.

What kind of Hulk toddler can pull a stove on top of themselves???

Obviously there is no shortage of information and one can decide the level of paranoid they are at and just how in depth they choose to child proof.

With all this child proofing junk, my question is, where are the husband proofing products?

There seems to be a fix for all things baby but nothing for husbands.

I'm at a loss on how to house proof a husband.

I've said it a thousand times before, GUM GOES IN THE TRASH. Gum does not go in your mouth then onto the side table when you are finished. It doesn't go on the back of the remote. I doesn't go on the top of a candle in the living room. If you can't discard gum like a big boy, you can't chew gum like a big boy.

Shoes do not go onto the white duvet cover after tromping around outside in the rain. Yes, there is a purpose to the duvet cover, to cover the comforter, but that does not mean we treat it like a tarp. Shoes come off before we get in bed.

Speaking of bed, sometimes pillows are decorative accessories. Yes, I know there are more than two pillows on the bed and you don't understand why we take them off the bed before we go to sleep, but that doesn't mean we should sell them on craigslist. I know I say, what we don't use, we get rid of but we use them to please the eye, kind of like lingerie. Get it now?

Not everything goes into the dishwasher. Yes, I love that you 'cleaned up'. Very nice. We hand wash our pots and pans, steak knives, anything of Sawyers and a few other things. After you clean, I THEN pull these things OUT of the dishwasher and hand wash them. I appreciate the gesture though.

Sawyer is easy. You read a few websites, you decide how freaked out you want to be and follow the advice.

Husbands are much more difficult. He can get into the hidden gum, he can go outside by himself then run inside and jump onto the bed without 'mommy' taking off his shoes. He can use the decorative pillows as his personal in bed food tray and smash his gum onto the back of the remote because, duh, comfort first.

Sigh.

Where is all the house proofing husband advice? Gum guard? Covers for the duvet cover? WHERE ARE ALL THE FREAKED OUT WIVES? I'm thinking all the baby proofing advice in the world won't keep my husband from wadding his gum on the back of the remote then half an hour later, Sawyer cruises by, picking up the remote (one of his favorite toys), putting the old gum into his mouth, then choking. Ever thought of that CRAZY WEBSITES??? EVER THOUGHT OF THAT?!?!

Because, "If you aren't big enough to discard it, you aren't big enough to chew it!" doesn't seem to work in my house.

Help.

Cheese.

No this post isn't an anti-dairy post, it's about me NEVER taking pictures. I NEVER take them. I lived in Turks and Caicos for about two years the only thing I took home was a fuzzy memory and a high alcohol tolerance; no pictures. I've taken a lot more pictures ever since I had Sawyer, but every picture is of him and nothing else. I'm on a quest to take more pictures. Here are a few from this week.

My partner in crime.

Geoff convinced me to eat as Sawyer does. With bib.

The girls at the Fillmore in Denver.

A freezing morning in Breckenridge. Geoff went to take a closer look at something in the water and I snapped a picture. Think this picture looks cool, or artsy or something. Whatever, it's not of Sawyer so stop making fun of me!

Us on the patio in Breck. This picture made me feel really old and wrinkled the first time I saw it. It's like you see yourself but don't really recognize your own face. Maybe I shouldn't say wrinkled, uhhh, this picture made me feel really mature... yeah, mature. That's it. See all the 'character' in my face but GAWD my husband is hot!

To taking pictures, good friends, hot men and wearing bibs! Cheers.

Foot in Mouth Disease

"Wow, you do NOT last long at all." I said to my husband when he rolled over after cuddling with me for about 60 seconds. "Thanks," he says, "just what every guy wants to hear." Oops.

"I think I'm going to just stay white tonight." I proclaimed turning down red wine. "Ya think?!", replies my friend. Oops.

"... because I DON'T like to keep my knees together." Explaining why I like to sleep with a body pillow. "And, THAT'S why I love you!" My husband replied. Oops.

All in one week. I promise, I went to college.

If you see the Wizard, can you bring us back some Courage?

Dream the other night:

I am house siting for a friend over the weekend, Geoff isn't with me for whatever reason but Sawyer is. I remember being excited for the weekend to end and see Geoff again. I'm nervous about my parking spot, wasn't sure where to park exactly or if I needed a permit. The last thing I need is a parking ticket and something about my decision of parking location was not right. I'm at my friend's condo on the beach while she was on vacation. It's Sunday already (It's a dream, days FLY!) and some lady walks in, apparently the housekeeper. My friend doesn't have a housekeeper. I was at the wrong house all weekend. I'm really getting excited to leave but the house keeper points up to the window above the door, I see water and fish are slamming against it. The tide is not only high, but water is basically flooding the entire outdoor condo and parking area. Waves are crashing over the house. This must be normal because housekeeper lady is not shocked. I'm freaking out, I don't know how I'm going to get out of this house and keep Sawyer safe. I know that I need to stay inside, but all I want to do is get out of this house with my son safely, and hug my husband.

Real Life:

I feel like my head is in a bucket of confusion. I just want to pull it off and see what is ahead of me. I'm not a super planner but I don't think timelines are bad. I wouldn't be so antsy if I knew when things were going to happen. I'm not a palm reader, I'm not clairvoyant. I need to chill.

Two words: House Hunting.

Why did I think this was going to be fun? I love where we are currently, there is just no room to grow. There is no room to store things. Sawyer's baby swing is still in our living room, we have no other place to put it. What we can't store, what we don't use, we sell on craigslist. There are just some things we have to keep. Our "pantry" consists of one small cabinet. This is creatively do-able for a family of three, but when a fourth comes along, this will be impossible. I want a real pantry, I want kitchen space to store plates and glasses and a blender and mixing bowls AND not have to put any of it on top of the fridge. I want a guest room. I want to decorate. I want to pick paint colors. I want to be all HGTV; currently all I am is House Hunters, I would rather be a little more Divine Design.

Two people, two tastes.

In some ways Geoff and I could not be more different. I think that is how we work so well together. I'm a city girl, he's a mountain man. I could scuba dive all day every day if that couldn't kill you. Geoff feels the same about skiing. I prefer places that skip winter all together, Geoff's ultimate dream home destination is Alaska. He's the sensitive one; the nice guy. I'm pretty fast to tell you how I feel, and you can forget second chances. So, after weeks of house searching, I don't think it should be too surprising I was tired and felt a little deflated. Every home we walk out of, one says, I LOVE it!! The other, NO WAY!

It's a big decision, it's our future house. It's the place we want Sawyer to remember his childhood in, the house he invites his friends to, the room he tries to sneak girls in, the windows he tries to sneak out of. The house he ruins after throwing a party while mommy and daddy are on vacation. The house he tortures his little sister in and years later the house he questions her future boyfriends, just trying to be protective. We want to create traditions, decorate for holidays, cook for friends, invite neighbors over. We want to put our heart into it. We want to make it our own, we both want to love it.

I think my dream the other night couldn't explain how I feel about the decision ahead of us any more perfectly. I'm nervous. I'm afraid we'll make a decision and we'll be stuck in a house that isn't ours. Geoff loses his job soon, which is one reason we can buy a house now, though the flip side of that, is not having paycheck coming in every two weeks. That makes us nervous. I don't want to put us in a bad spot, but at the same time, we are ready. We are ready to move on. We want to raise Sawyer in the best possible area, above everything, we just want to protect him and keep him safe. Lower downtown Denver is not that spot.

The other day on HGTV (I'm totally addicted.), the designers did an amazing makeover to someone's living room. They called it, the courageous makeover. The style was very different than what was there before, the owners were nervous, but the end result was amazing. I realized, we need to make a courageous decision, whether that is to buy or not to buy, we need to be courageous.

This weekend, we looked in a completely different place than we were looking before. Yesterday we both found a house we love. It's in Breckenridge, insanely close to skiing, close to town, an amazing neighborhood, a great house for a great price.

After seeing it twice in one day, we shook on it. We are going to do what we can to go for it. We are going to be courageous.

Last night I had a dream I was sitting in a living room with friends eating cookies. There are few things that make me happier in life than good friends and good cookies.

I feel content.

I feel ready.

Wish us luck.

Wish us courage.

1 + 1 = WHAT?

My husband asked me some question the other night. and my answer was, "I don't know, because they are a jerk?"

Husband: "It takes two to be a jerk."

Me: "Yeah, that's true. Never said I wasn't one."

Then I thought about it.

It doesn't take two to be a jerk!!! Sometimes people are totally, innocently tackled by jerk-ness, just out of nowhere and WHAM, jerk hits you all over the face! You didn't even see it coming!

Tell me you haven't been slapped silly by jerk-a-tude before?

No, TELL ME YOU HAVE!

This is where I was going to tell you my funny story. Here I am, wracking my brain, thinking of a situation I experienced and I've got nothing. My plan was to have some funny story about someone being a total jerk to me when I was innocent in the situation just to prove it doesn't take two people to be a jerk. I can not remember one, not one.

I bet it will hit me the moment I press 'publish post.'

I even waited a few days to write this post, and still can not recall a story, then again, maybe it is me. I think I might be the jerk. Great.

So, it's your job now. I want it out of my hands. I don't want 1+1 to equal 2, or A+B to equal C. Give me some stories I can relay back to the hubby and I promise, I won't do math for you again!

Well???

No Triumph for Him

I hate motorcycles. I hate them. I hate them. I hate them!

I probably wouldn't hate them if I was never an E.M.T. in Los Angeles. I've seen some horribly gross things. There have been times we arrived on scene and a few of us had to go off searching for the missing body parts.

My husband has a motorcycle, a Triumph. He loves it. He bought the thing a few days before we met and mentioned how excited he was about it our fist date. Like the Debbie Downer I am, I told him about other people's misfortunes and said I will never get on one.

A few months later, I got on his. We went around the block once and my hand was bleeding from holding on so tight. I got off, was a little shaky, and said that was it. Never again.

Geoff told me he couldn't wait to buy Sawyer his first motorcycle.

Me: " I can't wait to buy our (future) daughter red lace thong underwear when she turns ten."

Geoff deflated: "No motorcycle for Sawyer."

That's what I thought.

Exciting Changes! Need a Travel Agent or D.B.A. ??? Call the Strebels!

Just to update all of you... I have a new blog.. and a new job. I wouldn't even consider it a job, because I'm predicting a lot of fun to be had.

As you all know, we spent Christmas in California. My friend Kim and her family put together a big dinner and invited all of my friends. It was great. Long time friend and running partner runs her own Travel Agency and works along side her son. They put together our Turks and Caicos trip, she scheduled my Hawaii trip and I could not say enough great things about this family and this travel agency. She know how much I love to travel and how much experience I have in the traveling world. So, she invited me to work with them. I feel honored for her to think of me as a partner with their agency. Since then, I have been taking online classes to learn the booking system and just booked my first vacation on Friday. I get to work from home, I get to help out my friends company, and I get to share my passion for traveling with all of you. It couldn't be any more, win-win.

I've decided to start a travel blog. This blog is not just mine. I would love for you to share this blog with me. Been somewhere you want to rave about, want to share your vacation pictures with all of us? Send me your stories, along with any links you have and I will post it on there. I also plan to post travel deals to good to pass up, and it goes without saying, please get in touch with me for any of your traveling needs!

More changes? As of May 1st, my husband is starting his own business. He has tons of experience as a DataBase Administrator, is always the one everyone goes to when things go wrong and never fails to produce the solution no one has thought of yet. My husband is a smarty pants! Know anyone that needs a DBA? Check out his site here.

So, a lot of changes in the Strebel household. Join us in the fun!!!

The Other Night

I woke up to a violent kick to the foot via my husband.

He woke up immediately and asked if he just kicked my me. "Uhhh, YEAH, and hard!" He apologized profusely and rolled back over. I heard this before he fell back to sleep:

"UGH! The alien was holding on to my leg and wouldn't let go. BUT THEN, he started to lick my toes so I KICKED (complete with kicking action) him off!!!"

Can't argue with a man kicking off a toe-licking alien.

Valentines Day: Don't be a Hater

Almost everyone hates Valentines Day. " It's too commercial, why do I have show my love this day when I should show it everyday, the candy isn't even that good", blah, blah, blah. Don't get me wrong, Valentines day can be rough for someone who is perpetually single and has really bad luck with the opposite sex, which, trust me, was pretty much the definition of Holly Ferguson before I met my lover-lover Geoff. Still, I never had this hatred towards Valentines Day.

Though I've always been single minus one cheating, no good boyfriend that took me WAY too long to get over, I STILL liked Valentines Day. It reminds me of third grade, going around, placing my store bought Valentines Day cards in the home made "mail boxes" placed on each student's desk. I loved going through my mail box at the end of the day and reading all the cards from the boys in class whose cards never said a thing besides what was already designed by the card manufacturing company. Still, I thought the, "Have a GRRRREAT Valentines Day!" with a picture of Tony the Tiger meant that little Kevin liked me and thought I was the cutest, because, face it, I WAS!

As I got older, most Valentines nights were spent with friends or at work, pretty much, I was busy, had something to do, had friends that loved me and that was enough. Here I am though, married and able to celebrate February 14th all lovey-dovey with the one I love most and though I DO feel like I show him how much I love him as often as possible and NOT just on Valentines Day, Valentines Day gives me a platform to start from. A platform to help me figure out what to do. What to gift. Where to go.

To understand that reason, I guess you have to have to know a little fact about me.

I SUCK AT PRESENTS! I do! I HATE to give presents! They make me sooo nervous. I squirm at the fact that I might have to give a gift to someone. Birthdays, Christmas, anything, I HATE it! I'm not one to find the most perfect gift. I'm not one to remember those little hints I'm suppose to remember. I don't think too far ahead. Next week seems like an eternity away when in reality, I blink, and next week is here. So, I THINK I have all this time to present shop, the future catches up to me WAY faster than I expect it to, then I'm running to the mall frantically shopping for a present. NOTHING seems to fit the bill, I freak out and either A-Don't buy anything or B- Buy one of the worst gifts in history. I SUCK AT PRESENTS! I don't just suck at presents with friends, I really suck at getting presents for Geoff. Poor guy! He is GREAT at present giving. He knows what I want or need. He is romantic and thoughtful and amazing and always knows what he wants to get me in advance. Meanwhile I'm sweating over what to give him. Literally, sweating.

Let's talk about his Birthday. I knew it was coming up. I brainstormed for a month ahead of time, I thought of things and mentally crossed them off the list for some reason or another. Next thing I know, his birthday is less than a few hours away and I don't even have a card. Not even a card because I'm soo freaked out by what to get him, I just shut down. I actually pretended to be super hungry late that night so I had a reason to leave the house and find some birthday card last minute from Rite Aid. I don't have to say he didn't end up with a gift.

Christmas? We said we weren't going to going to do presents, maybe one small thing and that's it. We head to the store, split up and say we are going to meet back up in an hour. Five minutes later Geoff is done. Completely done. I'm running around looking at EVERYTHING. Does he need a pillowcase? A pair of shoes? Sham-Wow?! Hours go by and I have nothing. I finally ran into some place saw X Box games and thought, oh, he likes that. I grabbed a game and called it a day. By the way, do you know what I hate most in this house? Our damn X Box and THAT is what I gift Geoff. A freakin' X Box game. I HATE PRESENTS!

So here we are. Valentines day is coming up and I'm NOT sweating it. I don't HATE Valentines Day. Why? There is a theme. Love, romance, and all that stuff. My platform for gift giving (Though I still don't know what to get him! A hug?). My platform for planning a night. (It's my year to plan Valentines Day events.) Yes, it's very commercialized, very Hallmark, and VERY helpful when you are as lame as me and can't give a gift to save your life.

Moral: Don't let all the commercialism stop you from having a GRRRREAT Valentines Day, that is, unless you expect a present from me.

How I Met My Husband

Phone Conversation-

Suzy:" So, I put your transfer from Fresno to Denver, I just know you will like it way better so I just did it for you. How do the flights look, are you going to make it to Denver today?"

Me really freakin' tired on my period and not feeling very good: "Cool, uhhh, yeah, I'm going to try and get on this flight."

I make the flight and am on my way to Denver. Suzy picks me up, shows me around the neighborhood where she lives and says tonight we are going downtown. I'm really exhausted. The plan: go to a baseball game.

We arrive downtown, park and head to spot we can drink margaritas before the game.

Everyone flakes on the plan. Guess there is no baseball game in the near future. Suzy calls a few people and we decide to head to some guys house named Geoff. Turns out we actually parked right in front of his place when searching for a margarita spot. Perfect!

The doorman lets us up to this guy Geoff's place.

I meet Geoff. Geoff is hot. Geoff is really hot. I like Geoff. Act cool Holly, act cool. No, I mean, be funny, show him that you are funny. Be cool and funny.

I try to be funny.

I'm wishing that I got some sleep the night before cause I'm looking pretty beat.

Geoff is damn hot. We head out for a few drinks with him and his roomie Dave.

Geoff and I talk... a lot.

Geoff scuba dives. I scuba dive! OMG, I think we are made for each other!

We are talking non-stop. He tells me what he does for a living and I don't really get it. Who cares, did I mention how hot this guy is?

Geoff likes Mac's, I have a Mac! He is sooo the one!

Mmmmm, I likey Geoff!

It's time to go and we say goodbye to Geoff and Dave. Geoff kisses my cheek but not Suzy's. Maybe he likes me?

On the drive home-

Me: "So, I've got a crush on someone but you already know that."
Suzy: " I know."

The next morning I head to the airport and try to get back to L.A. All the flights are booked and as a standby passenger I'm getting denied flight after flight.

Geoff emails me.
I email back.
He emails back.
I email back again. I like Geoff a lot.
This email thing goes on for a while and he says if I don't make the next flight he is going to pick me up and we are going to go out.

I don't make the next flight.
He picks me up.
We go out.

I like Goeff.
We have some wine, we have conversation and we have our fist kiss.

A few months later we say I do.

Today I don't likey Geoff, I'm crazy in love with him.

(Autumn, that was for you!)
